NEXT EVENT: Saturday July 9-Triathlon PEI Duathlon #3 - Canoe Cove (NEW COURSE, NEW PRICE, NEW DIVISION, MORE FOOD!)

Hello all,

I'm pretty excited for this event--Canoe Cove is such a beautiful area to race as well as the run portion is so scenic that you'd want to run a 2nd lap (probably not, but trust me it's beautiful).

There has been much discussion over the details of this event. Should be an exciting day. In order to keep people in the loop, here are some the details so far:

3 Choices for participants:

1. LONG DUATHLON: will be in the format of RUN/BIKE/RUN.
2. TRI-A-DUATHLON: There will be a shorter RUN/BIKE/RUN encouraging for newcomers to the sport.
3. OPEN 10Km RUN division for people who want to do the run only.

Registration is $15 bucks for the duathlon or $10 bucks for the 10km RUN.

ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT PANCAKES BREAKFAST (Blueberry and Chocolate Chip) after the race!!!

It's going to be a fun event for everyone so tell your friends to come on out SATURDAY JULY 9, 2011 (11 Days Away).

Enjoy the sun today,

CPEI

Results- Emyvale Road Race

First of all, thanks to everyone who came out today to volunteer and those who competed in today's race. The rain held off and it was actually great racing conditions. Legs must be burning a bit after today's hilly ride. I hope everyone enjoyed the pancakes.

Funny side story, I was s0o0o0o hungry after today's race and I also had an extraordinary craving for ice cream. To solve my problem, I had a icecream at Red and White's Corner, but wasn't satisfied so went to Hunter's with my g/f and her friend for supper. I eat my stir fry and then ate 1/2 of my g/f Curry and almost all of her friend's fries (and two servings of coleslaw) Then, I ate a blizzard, and 3/4 of someone else's Caramel Sundae (I knew him) which proved to be way too much!!!...(ice cream is my weakness) and now I'm crashing hard. Long weekend of racing and Festival of Small Halls for me--night night (Yes, I know its 6:30pm but I'm gone to bed)

Check back soon for further updates.
I'm really looking forward to our next event. Soon be awesome so spread the word. There will be super awesome pancakes there too.

Sh*t Happens...CPEI Citizen Road Bike Series - Emyvale #1

OK here's the deal. Due to lack of Bluefield staff available to open the school Sunday morning, we are unable to get access to the washrooms prior to the race. Also, the "bluerockets" are all booked for this weekend so that option is now unavailable.

As a head's up, if nature calls, prepare to go into the woods or use the washroom at Bobby Clow's located like 500m down the road. I'll bring baby wipes just in case. :)

See you all on Sunday rain or shine (hopefully shine)!

Clow's Red and White is located at the intersection of Route 225 and the Colville Rd.

Mount Edward Grocery Memorial Run 2011

Source: http://therunman.blogspot.com/2008/08/mt-edward-grocery-5-mile-run.html

Cycling/Triathlon has stepped up to organized this year's Mt Edward Grocery Memorial Run. The race has been looking for a race director to take over and we at CPEI thought it would be a shame to lose this race from the event calender. Since the parking lot where the Driving Range is now gone and old location at the Mt Edward Grocery is no longer available, we were thinking of the Salam Hashem Varity Store on Fitzroy St as our race location.

Everything is still in the planning phase; however, the proposed date for this race will be Sat Aug 6, 2011. The follow day, Sunday Aug. 7 is our final duathlon of the season: Triathlon PEI Duathlon Series #4 -Emyvale

Happy Training!

This Sunday June 26th, 2011- CPEI Citizen Road Bike Series - Emyvale #1

RACE REMINDER: A great opportunity this weekend to do some hill training with the CPEI Citizen Road Bike Series - Emyvale #1. The race is this Sunday, June 26th, 2011 starting at Bluefield Highschool 10am. I'm also trying to organize a pancake breakfast immediately after the race. Chocolate chip pancake!!! Come on out to race or watch and enjoy some pancakes.

VOLUNTEERS: Always welcome anyone whom like to help out. Contact me at Billypmacdonald@gmail.com or by phone at 314-1577.

IDEAS FOR FUTURE EVENTS:

Post-Race PotLuck: If anyone would like to bring a favourite dish/post-race snack of their creation or simply like to bring some food this event (or future events), feel free to bring your yummy food to any events this summer. I believe this would be a fun way to promote the social/community aspect of these events. We'll have a table at each event to welcome the yummy food! Mmm Mmm Good!
